neck lift surgery

If you've started noticing visible signs of aging in your jawline and neck, we have an exciting solution for you: a neck lift surgery, also known as lower Rhytidectomy. This surgical procedure can address factors like heredity, gravity, environmental conditions, and stress contributing to losing youthful contours.

You may find that while your upper face still looks pleasing, you're experiencing excess wrinkling in the neck skin, a double chin, "turkey wattle," or jowl lines that have become more prominent over time. If this sounds familiar, a neck lift can help. By improving excess fat and skin relaxation in the lower face, reducing the appearance of jowls, removing excess fatty deposits in the chin, and correcting muscle banding in the neck, we can achieve more natural contours and provide a rejuvenated appearance.

Reasons for Considering

  • The appearance of a "turkey neck."
  • Vertical bands in front of the neck.
  • Loss of jaw contour.
  • Excessive fatty deposits in the chin.

General Procedure

To begin the surgical procedure, our skilled surgeon will make an incision in the hairline by the sideburn. This incision will then extend around the ear and down the posterior hairline. Through these strategically placed incisions, the surgeon will modify the skin tissue in the neck, tighten the platysma muscle, and reposition the skin to create a more lifted contour. We will carefully remove any excess skin to enhance the overall result. An additional incision under the chin may sometimes be necessary to achieve the desired outcome. Rest assured that we aim to ensure that the incision lines blend seamlessly with the natural contours of your ear and hairline, leaving minimal visible traces.

Recovery Process

After your neck lift surgery, we will delicately apply a soft bandage around your face and neck to reduce swelling and bruising. It's necessary to hold your head elevated and avoid excessive twisting or bending of the neck to facilitate a smoother recovery and minimize swelling. While some patients may experience minor discomfort, our surgeon will provide oral medication to manage any pain that may arise effectively. It's worth noting that complications are rare, and you can further minimize any risks by carefully following the post-operative directions provided to you after the surgery.
